A Tribute to the Mothers in my life

I've had some amazing mothers cross my path in my life. Although I like to think I know everything and although I like to be independent, I recognize their huge influence on me! I've learned so much from them! So here is my tribute to some of the most amazing mom's I know. If I didn't list you, please don't be sad! It is just late and I could be up all night typing a list of all the mom's I know! (And I don't want to shed that many tears before bed.)

First and foremost, my own mom. What an amazing woman. Resourceful, patient, intelligent, spiritual and all around amazing. I hope to be half the mother she is! There is literally nothing she can't do, and nothing she is not willing to do for her family.

Second, my second mom! Theresa is strong, loving, patient and ever helpful! She has taught me the importance of long lasting friendships and connections.

Third, my sisters... Here are some things that impress me about them:

  • Allie - who is creative and imaginative even when we don't feel young anymore. She reminds me that the simplest games with her kids can be wonderful and fun!
  • Becky - who has a great unconditional love for every child that crosses her path. When a child comes in the room, a smile comes on her face.
  • Deanna - who teaches me the value of playtime with her kids. She instills such great love and friendship between her boys I am in awe!
  • Amanda - who isn't a mom, but I have to put her on my list because she is so awesome! All her nieces and nephews adore her... even all the neighborhood kids love her. She is attentive, fun and loves to play with the kids. They flock to be around her.
  • Wendy - who is willing to sacrifice so much of her own time to support her kids in their activities (I'm still too selfish of my time!)
  • Andie - who is so sweet, compassionate and such a great teacher to her little girl
  • Tammy - who has such a close and loving relationship with her 3 little princesses.

Fourth - all my friends who are mothers, sisters, and overall great women! Here are just a few who are on my mind tonight.

  • Heather S- who has taught me the amazing gift of charity. Always looking out for her friends and neighbors. I've never met anyone else who genuinely focused on the happiness and welfare of those around her like she does. I am so impressed on her eagerness to serve, even when she is stretched thin! It was great seeing you this weekend. We love you and miss you!
  • Linde D- for loving me as her own when I was at my loneliest. For the short time we were together she opened her heart and her home to me. When she took on an exchange student I think she just expected to give them a place to sleep. Its great how the Lord blesses us when we need it!
  • Valerie G- for her endless love, patience and compassion for others when she has so much on her plate. Nobody gives a more sincere hug and nobody deserves one more than she. When I'm with her I want to cheer for her bravery, cry for her frustration and pain, sing her praises as a wonderful mom and wife, and praise her to give her strength in the future. We love her dearly and pray for her and her amazing family to get through the difficult times ahead.

There are so many more, but I'm getting really tired. Its been a long day and a long drive in the car and I'm ready to sleep.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
