2008 Here we come!

The new year has come. I am enjoying it by hanging out in my pajamas for as long as possible!

For New Years Eve we played charades with the kids. Zane didn't quite get the game at first. I would tell him what his word was to act out and tell him how to act it out. He would then just whisper the words to everyone or dance around like a crazy man. It was still fun.

After the charades, we fried up some scones, ate ice cream and made orange party hats for each of us. BYU puts on a big family New Years Eve activity at the mall and they put on a fireworks display at 9 pm and then again at midnight. I figured that only Doug and I would last until midnight, so we took the kids up to watch the fireworks at 9 pm. Kyah was so tired she barely was able to stay awake for the fireworks. When they were over and we started to drive home she was very upset because she wanted to stay. She fell asleep within a minute of leaving the parking lot.

After putting all the kids in bed, Doug and I watched a movie. When it was over and we were getting ready for bed we heard some loud noises behind our house. It spooked us a little bit until we realized it was the neighbors setting of firecrackers! How did we get so old and tired to not really celebrate the new year?!

We are excited for this next new year. It is going to be an amazing one! My only resolution this year is to read the entire Book of Mormon twice through. When I told Doug, he said he would do it too. And then somehow it turned into a competition between us who would finish reading it once first. It should be interesting!
