Today we found out that one of our friends in Utah passed away. We were shocked and so sad to hear this news. He was young and newly married (3 months). Doug spoke with his brother this afternoon on the phone. They thought their phones kept cutting out on each other because they were both crying and couldn't talk.
So tonight I am feeling sentimental. I am contemplating life... life on this earth begins (new babies!) and life on this earth ends (death of a friend). But there is so much joy in the middle of it all, that it is quite worth it. I am thankful for the Gospel and that we can have peace knowing that there is eternal life hereafter. I am happy that Jon was able to find his eternal companion and that although they were on the earth together for a short time, I know that they had joy and they will have joy together again.
I was looking through our photos of Jon and found this one from Halloween in 2005. Doug wore my wedding dress. Jon and our friend Adam were Laurel and Hardy. We have other photos of Jon (singing Karaoke, making a graham cracker house with an explosive icing bag) but I love this one the most. Our love goes out to Jon's family.
Hug your spouses and kiss your kids and be ever thankful. :)
