Showers vs. Laundry

I am disappointed because I wrote this blog after the announcement of Allie's new baby. I really believe that Allie's new baby is more important and should hold the top spot of my blog for a few days at least! But I had some funny thoughts this morning and wanted to share them before I forgot about them. In any case this posting is not that important, nor is it that interesting, but you should definitely read the next post about the new baby Cooper.

I am proud this morning because I finished laundry. I really finished... as in, no clean piles of folded or non-folded clothes waiting to be put away, no straggling items of dirty clothes that didn't make it into the wash before I was done. No dirty towels, dirty rags, lone socks... etc.

And then I decided to take a shower. Guess what happens when I take a shower! That is an entire outfit that I have to put in the dirty pile, (a few whites and a few colors) plus a towel!

So I am adding "laundry" to my list of why showers are completely overrated. Don't get me wrong, because I like to be clean. I like my kids to be clean. I like the feeling and smell of clean hair. I like the happy, upbeat, "ready to go" feeling when I have showered and am all ready for the day. I like the comfort a hot shower can give you when you ache and I like the solitude of taking a shower. (Except for the kids banging on the door because all of a sudden they can't live without your presence!)

But it takes so much time and effort to shower! And once you shower, it takes longer to get ready to go anywhere. And now I've realized how much laundry one shower creates! Not to mention the giant amount of water used to shower and do laundry. (I know its really bad that I don't care, but I am not really concerned about the water part). And I am really thankful for washers and dryers. I would NEVER NEVER NEVER finished washing clothes if I had to do it by hand. Disposable clothes would be worth it.

Maybe those Germans got it right. Shower once a week! Save water! Save the environment! Wear the same outfit for days until you do shower! Maybe I should move back to Europe. My sinuses are usually plugged up anyway, so maybe I won't notice the BO.

No, not everybody in Germany is that way, so I don't mean to give offense to anyone.

So I am off to take a shower so I don't have BO. And oh yeah, while I was typing this, Zane peed his pants. So thats almost an entire new load ready to go!

In any case, thanks for reading. Hope I made you chuckle. And check out that cute baby in my next post!

I hate putting away laundry! It seems to take way longer than it should. You are right about the shower thing....it does take too long to get ready afterward but hey it isn't going to stop me from showering every day!

I love it. Congrats on finishing your laundry. I totally understand the shower thing. I get one almost every other day. Sometimes every two days. Gross I know. My laundry hasn't been completely done probably since living in NYC b/c I had 3 washers and 2 gigantic dryers to do it all in. Now I have tons and it never gets done.

Thanks for the laughs. I enjoyed it.

Allie's baby is cute and big but not surprised by that. I think he might already be bigger then David:) j/k...kind of.

Love ya.
