I've been having a hard time sleeping lately. I wake up in the middle of the night... usually around 3 am.. and can't get back to sleep. I lay in bed thinking about everything I am going to do the next day and I can't calm down! I don't think that I am stressed so much, as I am just excited. Christmas is coming, Amanda is coming to visit, its been snowing (a lot!), and of course basketball and my kids take up the rest of my brain space. So anyway, here it is at 2 am... and I've been up for an hour already.
Doug and I went shopping for Santa last week. We had a few very specific requests for Santa this year (like always). Zane wants a power rangers helmet. When we asked him what else he wants from Santa, he said "Another power ranger helmet for Kyah." Kyah wants a Nintendo DS and a Mulan dress. After some shopping online, a few phone calls and stops at stores... we found everything we needed to fulfill their dreams this year. Did you know the crawl space in your house makes a great hiding place for presents? I just hope the rats don't walk away with that Nintendo before Christmas Eve.
We took Zane and Kyah out to buy presents for each other. I think they were both successful in finding something their siblings will enjoy... although it was like pulling teeth to get Kyah to look at toys for boys! (I was going to say "boy toys", but that sounded funny). Zane was the same way, he just wanted to look at cars for Kyah. We tried to explain that Kyah likes girly stuff... but he wouldn't buy it.
Tomorrow is Kyah's last day of school before the "winter" break. She is having a party in her classroom. I have volunteered to help so it should be lots of fun! Maybe I should dress up as Santa's little helper... in an un-0naughty way! Sorry, there goes my mind at 2 am!
By the way, the Freshman Girls are 3 and 0! We kicked some butt against Hanford last night... 33:13. Last week we played Pasco and won by a free throw shot with 1.1 seconds left on the clock. Talk about a nail biter! We finally get to play at home against Ike on Saturday and Hermiston on Tuesday. I wish I had someone to scout for me! I hate not knowing what these teams are like... and I get sick to my stomach on game days because I am so nervous for the girls!

I've been waking up at 3 am too because I am so excited to see all of you! I can't wait to squeeze the kids and snuggle with them, and to see how much they have changed!
Great job coaching the girls Coach Weikum!
I'm jealous as ever that we won't be there! I even looked up flights to Seattle. 140 round trip but the problem would be leaving yesterday and coming home on X-mas day. (I look this up on Monday so this actually could have worked). Problem is I don't think Jon would be that happy if his wife and kids weren't with him on x-mas eve and only part of the x-mas day. I guess there is always next year.
We sent your box load of goodies. I'm excited for when you all open them. I was truly inspired...hehe.
