I just read this last night and thought I'd share as it goes with the theme of being grateful.
"The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate"
Thank you Dove Chocolates for this insightful moment!
Which leads me into Thankful #1 today: I am thankful for chocolate. This really is a shallow item to be thankful for, but sometimes it really can make the world seem better!. Take this example from yesterday for instance. We were watching the last RHS volleyball game and were a little frustrated. My mom said "I can't handle this anymore, I need chocolate!" She hustled up the stairs to the concession stand and bought BIG snickers bars for us. It really did make me feel better!
I am thankful for comfy socks. I am a barefoot person. I can barely stand to wear socks, even when I am wearing shoes that require them. But for the most part I am in flip flops. (Again... thankful for no snow!) But I found some awesome ankle sport socks that I absolutely love. The bottom is padded and soft, the top is thinner so my feet don't get so hot and sweaty and they have the tighter stretchy ring going around the top of my foot so they don't slip off. If I knew the inventor of this style of sock I would hug him/her!
I am thankful for the unity in my marriage with Doug. I am extremely thankful for Doug, but I've already done that one, so this is a new twist. When I have a concern about our family, our plans for the future or anything, he is always right on track with me. It is great to know that I can share my worries and hopes with him and know he will support me. His patience is amazing!
